A pantyhose, commonly referred to as sheer tights are close fitting leg wear that covers the body of the person wearing them most often from the waist to the toes. However, the clothing is mainly used by women and girls ever since they came into the market in the 1960s. Depending on where a wearer is located, some may find it convenient referring to the garment as either stocking while others call them girdles.
Just like stockings, compression pantyhose are usually made of nylon or other fabrics that are blended with nylon. As a matter of fact, the clothing is designed for purposes of being attractive to the appearance of those wearing them, hiding physical imperfections like blemishes , scars , bruises , varicose veins or even hair. While adding to the fashionable trends especially to ladies, mostly drawn from western countries, may at times be worn by men as a formal dress.
However, there are clear differences in the designing of the men and women pantyhose in that they must be distinctively different. Today, most companies, as well as other institutions, are fond of using the clothing as dress codes. Moreover, some institutions recommend that the clothing is used as part of school uniform.
Pantyhose are known to have a standardized construction in that the top of the waist appear stronger, parts covering the hips and buttocks covered with thick materials as opposed to the materials found on the legs. In designing these clothing, the designers ensure that the crotch is made of relatively strong material preferably porous cotton with the legs being made of thin usable fabrics ground consistently down to the toes. Additionally, the designers ensure that the garments are easy to enforce so as to guard against wear and tear.
Another pantyhose is found to be composed of nylon that is blended with a mixture of spandex that provides the elasticity and form-fitting component of a modern make of the clothing. Additionally, a pantyhose made of nylon are prone to tearing making it a commonly observed phenomenon for the hose to “run” especially after coming into contact with sharp and rough objects. However, variations exist such as those appearing to be given a fishnet finishing. At the same time, others are made of materials ranging from cotton, wool or even silk.
Pantyhose is found available in modern as well as popular styles ranging from thin to others that can be very thin. In as such, the users determine what they want to wear and consider purchasing them for their comfort. There are other pantyhose found to be control-top with additional features that are designed to boost the figures of those wearers who appear slimmer. This panty section can be made visible when one is wearing them with highly cut skirts or shorts.
Sheer-to-waist pantyhose appears sheer throughout with the portion of the panty appearing to have a similar thickness well as the color of the leg portion, mainly designed to be worn with high-slit gowns hot pants, miniskirts or lingerie. Most often than not, such pantyhose can be found reinforced on either side of the seam in the middle of the panty.
Open-crotch pantyhose at times referred to a crotchless pantyhose lack a gusset. However, they have an opening purposefully meant for hygienic reasons for sexual-fetishism activities. Some have single and others double panel gussets added to them. For the single ones, they have tow seams instead of one with a single one placed on either side of the gusset. On the other hand, the one found to be double paneled, they have double gussets placed in twos on either side of the clothing.
There are many reasons as to why I would recommend the wearing of compression pantyhose. However, there are concerns that one should consider before donning them. For starters, unlike those made of cotton, the ones made of nylon are absorbent. In as such, they do not allow easy perspiration, especially in the feet, legs as well as the genital areas thus encourage the growth of bacteria especially those associated with odor. Secondly, the fact that they cannot be recycled discourages people who are environmentally conscious from wearing them due to them being non-biodegradable. Once they wear out and needs to be disposed of, disposal through burning may cause environmental hazards like the release of toxins to the atmosphere.
