The L0466 Thoracic Lumbosacral Orthosis (TLSO) is a rigid brace that is overall meant to restrict movement. A TLSO with this medical billing code must have sagittal control. Controlling movement is very important in order for the body to heal correctly. The back side has a rigid frame, while the front is flexible and soft, apron like with straps. These TLSO's must have closures and padding so the brace can fit correctly and comfortably.

A major concern with the L0466 braces is that it restricts trunk motion within the sagittal plane. This type of brace must also fit snugly so that it will create intra-cavity pressure. This feature is important because it lifts the load off of the vertebral discs.
