L0633 is the suggested medical billing code for lumbar-sacral orthosis which offers a great amount of control and movement restrictions. Sagittal-Coronal control must be provided, this is important so the side-to-side and front-to-back motion is restricted. The back frame/panel must be rigid. L0633 braces measure from the upper-middle back to the tailbone. The sides are strengthened by the rigid frame or panels these braces must have.

In order to relieve stress on the vertebrae discs, L0633 braces create pressure within the cavity of the body. These braces include straps and closures in order to make the brace fit correctly. In addition to these requirements the brace may also have padding, stays, shoulder straps, and a pendulous abdomen design, however these features are not require, and neither qualify or disqualify a brace for the L0633 medical billing code.
